FREEPORT-MCMORAN MORENCI METCALF AND MOLYBDENUM EXPANSION

The Morenci mine site is one of the largest open pit copper mines in the world. The Metcalf Mill Expansion increased copper production by 225 million pounds per year for $1.6 billion. 

PNL supplied 4-6 technicians onsite to perform the required testing and inspections demanded by the project schedule. In addition PNL was asked to perform all the welder qualification testing for the welders on the project.

PNL completed all the testing and inspection services on time and within budget requirements. PNL continues to provide NDE services to Freeport-McMoRan Inc. at their other mine sites.
